What are photo slides made of?

I have a bunch of vintage slides to list on ebay. One question is Photo Type: Negative, Gelatin Silver, Platinum, etc. I don’t know. They’re just slides from the 1950’s.

Photographic slides are made from a cellulose base material that is coated with a light sensitive chemical. This chemical, normally a silver halide, reacts to light. When the film is developed the chemical bath causes the light sensitive material to darken depending on how much light it was exposed to. The next process, called the stop bath halts the developing process. this is followed by a fix bath that makes the exposed photosensitive material no longer sensitive to light. the last process called a wash cleans all the chemicals off.

A “negative” slide is just as the name says. If you look at it the lighter parts of the photo look dark, and the dark parts look light. These are mostly meant to be used to create prints.

Gelatin is normally used to describe the backing material that holds the photosensitive material.

The Silver & Platinum is used to describe what the light sensitive material is made from

The best way to know what the slides are is to look at the edges of the slide. there is normally some sort of description or manufacturers information there.

You may have precious photographs or important business pictures from time to time. A PowerPoint photo album is just an introduction helps you store and display these photos in a digital form.

1. Open PowerPoint, on the Insert tab, click the album button Gallery in the dropdown list, it is using New album.

2. Insert pictures

Click File / Disk button. Choose images to include in the album folders on your hard drive. (Hint: You can import multiple images to disc at once)

In the dialog box of albums photos, you will see the selected pictures in the picture in the album list. You can view each picture by clicking it. And you can change the order of an image selecting and clicking Up or Down. Below the image preview, you will see six buttons, you can use to adjust the rotation, contrast and brightness of each image.

3. Create album design

4. Create a title and subtitle of the album

After clicking the Create button in Slide 1, type the title you want to the album in place of the words of Photo Album. Then, if necessary, an album with a subtitle entering the place of your username.

5. Modify Photo Gallery

On the Insert tab, click the Photo Album arrow, and then click Edit Photo Album.

In Edit dialog box photo album, picture Options, securities, then select All pictures box, and then click Update.

You can now edit the file name below each photo with an appropriate title.

6. Apply a theme to your album

On the design tab of PowerPoint, in the Themes area, select a topic that meets the need of your album.

Or you can customize the look of your album by choosing a theme for your computer.
