I’d like to put up a canopy but I wanted to avoid having to put holes in the celing? Any alternative ideas?

I have a canopy kit and it came with the nails and everything else. However, I am not sure how the landlord would feel about the holes in the ceiling so I was wondering if any one had any alternatives that I could use in place of the nails.
