Is it normal for a CRT Electrohome TV to have clearer picture then my 61′ Panasonic and Insignia 19′ tv.?
Is it normal for my CRT tv to have clearer picture then my two HDTV’S. Both the HDTV’S have no High Definition Boxes yet.
Yes. As a general rule of thumb, content always looks best in native resolution. Analog or SD content is broadcast (in the US) at 480i or 480p). A CRT Electrohome TV has a resolution of 480 vertical lines and will look great. An HDTV with 1080p needs to up-covert this same signal. Up-convertion can not invent details. Up-converstion to 1080p requires the interpretation and invention of over 1.7 million pixels. There is NO way that a HDTV can look better with a 480i or 480p feed. All of that will change when you get your HD service.
